Title: A message stick held in the University of Queensland Anthropology Museum

Description: Message stick. Physical Description: The object is rectangular in shape, the ends are quite rough (not smooth). It is a medium hardwood painted dark brown but is light brown in colour (as indicated by the incising). On one side: The patterns incised consist of chevrons and six vertical lines at one end and at the other end, two sets of four vertical lines which are divided by a horizontal line. This horizontal line has two small vertical lines at each end. The other side of the object has a different pattern; it consists of six vertical lines at one end and six long horizontal lines in the middle and then four vertical lines at the other end.
