Title: A message stick held in the University of Queensland Anthropology Museum
Description: Message stick. Physical Description: Long rectangular object with tapered ends. Medium hardwood, painted with a reddish/brown pigment. One side has a cross hatching design encased in a rectangle incised into the wood and highlighted with a creamy coloured paint. This side also has incised parallel lines and three crosses. The other side has a design consisting of diagnol lines which are also encased in a rectangle as well as zig zag patterns. These are also highlighted with the same colour. Length: 29.8cm, Width (middle): 4.4cm, Width (ends): 3cm
