Title: A message stick held in the University of Queensland Anthropology Museum
Description: Message stick. Physical Description: Rectangular object with slightly curved/rounded ends. Medium hardwood, light brown colour. On one of the large rectangular faces is a gree pigment (quite small) and there are also black/burn marks on this side. The design is carved quite deeply into the surface of the object. There are incised corsses and vertical lines as well as some cross hatching. In the middle is an oval shape with tapered edges (this is deeply carved into the surface). On the small lateral sides is a saw tooth formation that has been carved.
