Description: From catalogue: "The collector showed the two sticks to Professor Elkin, of Sydney University, who identified one as a 'pointing stick', the accuracy of this is not established. They are more like 'message sticks' (JES)." [...] "ncised messaage stick. The stick is elongated and circular in section, with pointed ends. iI is incised with fire markings, which occur in patterns of wavy bands along their lengths, and have dotted patterns between."
